Microneedling
What it is + What to Expect:
-
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating a natural healing response. By triggering collagen and elastin production, it treats acne scars, wrinkles, pore size, and uneven texture for firmer, smoother skin.

-
How Microneedling Helps Your Skin:

-
Boosts Collagen & Elastin: The "micro-injuries" trigger the body's repair mechanism, increasing collagen production to thicken, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin.
-
Reduces Scars & Stretch Marks: It is highly effective at breaking down scar tissue, particularly from acne, and improving the appearance of stretch marks.
-
Improves Texture & Tone: It minimizes enlarged pores and helps fade hyperpigmentation, leading to a more even skin tone and smoother texture.
-
Reduces Fine Lines & Wrinkles: By promoting new skin growth, it smooths fine lines and reduces the appearance of aging.
-
Enhances Skincare Absorption: The thousands of tiny punctures allow serums and topical treatments to penetrate deeper and work more effectively.

-
What to Expect:

-
Procedure: the practitioner applies a numbing cream about 25 minutes before using a pen-shaped device or roller with needles, usually taking 10–30 minutes.
-
Results: Gradual improvement is seen over several months, with best results usually after three or more sessions. Sessions are spaced 4-6 weeks.
-
Downtime: Side effects are usually minor and include redness, tenderness, or slight swelling, similar to a sunburn, which typically fades within a few days.
-
Microneedling is considered safe for all skin types, though it is not recommended for those with active acne, skin infections, or poor wound healing.

Microneedling sessions on their own are offered or you can book microneedling with acupuncture and use your extended health benefits towards the treatment. Please note direct billing is not available for these treatments but you can submit manually.
